Transgender 101

According to Pew Research, about four-in-ten Americans (42%) say they personally know someone who is transgender. Younger adults, Democrats, and those with more education are generally more likely to report knowing a transgender person.

But what does it mean to be transgender? Excellent question! In this webinar, we will discuss the gender binary and what it means to be transgender. We will also discuss misgendering, deadnaming, and other potentially harmful behaviors. If you have no clue what those things are, fret not, we'll cover it! As well as what to do if you mess up and accidentally misgender or deadname someone.

Are you interested to know more about this population? How old are they when they realize they are transgender? How many of them are in the military? Do most of them have a religious affiliation? Are they well educated? What are their experiences like at work?

Join internationally sought-after LGBTQ+ sensitivity and transgender inclusion subject matter expert Dr. A.C. Fowlkes to discuss all this and more.
